The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s standard learn-to-dive certification: once you pass, you can rent gear, fill tanks, and dive to 18 metres anywhere on earth. Ours runs in Singapore with classes of just 4-5 students, flexible dates that fit your schedule, no minimum sign-up numbers, and your open water training dives at Pulau Hantu or Lazarus Island, no ferry to Malaysia required. The price is $838, and everything that matters is included.

    What’s included for $838

Not included, so there are no surprises: meals and personal insurance cover.

    How the course runs

Day 1 Online eLearning theory: principles, safety, dive planning, done from home at your pace
Day 2 Confined pool session: master the core skills in water you can stand up in
Days 3-4 Four open water training dives at Pulau Hantu or Lazarus Island, right here in Singapore

Because the theory is eLearning and the dives are local, the schedule flexes around you: no fixed intake dates, no waiting for a group to fill, and no long weekend in another country before you’re certified.

    Am I eligible?

If you have a medical condition you’re unsure about, ask us before booking and we’ll point you to the standard diver medical questionnaire.

Why certify with a dive shop?

We’re a PADI training centre inside Singapore’s dive gear shop. That changes your experience in two concrete ways. First, the people teaching you dive every week and fit gear for a living, so you learn on properly fitted equipment instead of whatever’s left in a rental bin. Second, your gear discount starts the day you certify: most new divers buy a mask and computer first, and buying where you trained means advice from instructors who watched you dive.

Courses in Singapore run anywhere from around $450 to $1,500+ depending on format: aquarium dives, trip-based courses in Malaysia with travel and accommodation on top, private one-on-ones. Ours is the straightforward local version: small group, flexible dates, real ocean dives, one honest price.

    What comes after Open Water?

The PADI Advanced Open Water course ($838) takes you to 30 metres across five adventure dives, including deep and navigation, and you can start it immediately after certifying. After that, the Rescue Diver course ($838) is the one most divers call their favourite. And before any of it, you’ll want your own mask and computer: start with our dive computer buying guide.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does the Open Water course take?

Typically 3-4 days total: eLearning at your own pace, one pool day, and two days of open water dives. Because dates are flexible, you can spread it across weekends.

Do I need to buy any gear first?

No: use of all scuba equipment is included. Most students buy their own mask (fit and hygiene) and many add a dive computer; neither is required to start.

Where do the training dives happen?

Pulau Hantu or Lazarus Island, both in Singapore waters, a boat ride from the mainland rather than an overseas trip.

I can’t swim very well. Can I still join?

You need to swim 200 metres (any stroke, no time limit) and float or tread water for 10 minutes. If you can do that, you’re eligible. If you’re not sure, come talk to us first.

    Is the certification recognised overseas?

Yes. PADI Open Water is the most widely recognised diving certification in the world; dive centres and resorts everywhere accept it as proof you can rent gear and join dives to 18 metres.

    How do I book?

Book the course online, or WhatsApp us at 9800 0539 to talk dates first. No minimum group size, so you’re never waiting on strangers to commit.
